The collection began many years ago after inheriting three of the Mills family Wireless sets dating from the 1924 Sterling two-valve to the Philco 444 (People's Set) of around 1935. One of these could be seen in the living room of the Steptoe & Son TV series.
My father had found a 1924 Polar Twin in an old workshop in Snowdonia and this was the first radio I got to work. The first sound heard was the theme music to "The Archers", an appropriately long-running radio series!
The thrill of listening to a 1924 working radio enthused me to search for more and the rest of the finds is just history.
